Everywhere in the city is only a few minutes from one of the most stunning beaches in Southern California, and there is always something fun to partake in. Families that live here have access to an incredible school system and Hermosa is easily accessible for those that commute to nearby cities for work.

The downtown area of Hermosa Beach, adjacent to the city’s famous pier, is the hot spot for locals and visitors alike. There’s an abundance of food options, boutiques, and the laid-back beach vibe that the area is famous for.

A local favorite, La Playita Cafe is a little Mexican Cafe serving authentic dishes overlooking the beachside park. Set back from the boardwalk is an upscale Italian steakhouse called Zane’s, which also has one of the best happy hours in Hermosa Beach.
Just off the pier can be found a collection of high-end boutiques carrying many unique items. Spyder Surfboards is owned by a former pro surfer and carries everything you need for surfing or skating. It’s one of those shops that you go into and know you’re getting the best gear plus a few pro tips before you head out on the board. Wicked+ is a general store full of artisan coffee tools, gifts, and locally-made gifts. Find stylish and luxury wardrobe staples at women’s clothing boutique, Beach and Beverly. To get even more local goods, as well as fresh produce, go to Valley Park for the Farmers Market every Friday.
Things to Do
Enjoy a sunny stroll, or a run or bike if that’s your speed, along the Hermosa Valley Greenbelt. This nature-filled path stretches from Redondo Beach to Manhattan Beach and is the perfect way to escape the bustle of the city. Get active and a bit competitive in one of Hermosa Beach’s Volleyball Tournaments or Beach Tennis Tournaments that happen throughout the year. And for families, let the kids learn lifeguarding skills, surfing, or skateboarding at the Beach Summer Camps.
Hermosa Beach is home to several a handful of incredible festivals throughout the year. On the beach, the city hosts a series of Summer Beach Concerts. Enjoy music, food, and fun at the annual Fiesta Hermosa, which is a beloved community event that raises money for the city’s chamber of commerce. Sharing space with Redondo Beach, the BeachLife Festival is one of the most iconic music events of the South Bay.
